Mudra of the Month February: Vam Mudra

Mudra of the Month: Vam Mudra – Awakening Creativity

Intention of the Mudra

Vam Mudra is a powerful hand gesture used to stimulate the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana), the energy center associated with creativity, emotional expression, and passion. This mudra helps release creative blocks and invites inspiration into your life.

How to Practice Vam Mudra

  1. Sit comfortably in a cross-legged position or on a chair with your feet firmly planted on the ground. Keep your spine tall and shoulders relaxed.

  2. Bring your hands to your lap, palms facing upward.

  3. Touch the tips of your thumbs to the tips of your little fingers on each hand, keeping the other fingers gently extended.

  4. Rest your hands on your thighs or knees, and close your eyes.

  5. Take deep, steady breaths and visualize a warm, orange light glowing at your sacral chakra (just below your navel).

  6. Repeat the mantra “Vam” silently or aloud, as it resonates with the sacral chakra, enhancing its activation.

  7. Hold this mudra for 5–15 minutes daily or as needed.
